A special public forum was held by the Garfield City Council at City Hall in Garfield on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, concerning financing the City’s Water Storage Tank Project.
Guest speaker Robert Tanksley addressed the City Council and asked for the current proposal by the Council for financing the City Water Storage Tank Project. Mayor Blackburn summarized the council’s proposed ordinance, which would replace Ordinance 173; the proposed ordinance included a new water fee of $1.50 per thousand gallons of water purchased each month.
In response, Mr. Tanksley suggested that a sales tax increase be considered to fund the City Water Storage Tank Project.
