Mayor Gary Blackburn has called a public forum to be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, to provide the public with information about a proposed ordinance to establish a new schedule of water usage fees for customers in the Garfield Public Waterworks District.
The public forum on water rate changes will be held at the Garfield City Hall in the Alderman Terry Warren Room, starting at 5:30 PM.
The Garfield Public Waterworks District delivers potable water from Beaver Lake through two systems: Garfield Rural Water System and Garfield Rural Water System, Sugar Creek Water Extension. The cost of water delivery differs between the two systems.
The proposed ordinance for a new schedule of water usage fees includes an assessment to address the cost of a new water storage tank.
