The Garfield City Council met at City Hall for a specially called meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, to consider an ordinance for the regulation of the use of streets by trucks in the City of Garfield.
The Use of Streets by Trucks Ordinance was passed by the City Council as Ordinance 180, which establishes limits on load weights and size dimensions for vehicles traveling in Garfield. Violation of the provisions of the ordinance are subject to a penalty not to exceed $2000 per event.
The Use of Streets by Trucks Ordinance also includes provisions for permits to be issued by the City of Garfield to allow specific vehicle weights within the City limits.
