The Garfield City Council meets each month, typically on the second Tuesday of the month, in the Alderman Terry Warren Room at City Hall to conduct legislative business for the City of Garfield. The minutes from each meeting are prepared by the Recorder-Treasurer and reviewed by the Mayor. Finally, the City Council Meeting Minutes are presented to the City Council for approval at the following monthly meeting.

New business conducted at the May 14th meeting included the approval of advertising for bids from companies interested in supplying the City of Garfield with trash services starting in 2020, the acceptance of a Rural Community Grant of $15,000 and its use to help pave the City Park walking trail, a resolution to authorize an application for federal funds to help with the paving of the walking trail, and the Mayor’s proclamation of May as National Preservation Month.
