Citizens of the City of Garfield are invited to attend a public forum in the Alderman Terry Warren Room of City Hall on Tuesday, June 11, starting at 5:30 PM.
The purpose of the forum will be to provide a platform for the public to give input concerning the City’s application for a FUN Park Grant from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism Outdoor Recreation Program.
The FUN Park Grant is awarded to municipalities or communities with population sizes of 2500 or less to assist them with their outdoor recreation facilities. Matching funds are not required from the recipient of the grant. The total grant award will be up to $50,000.
Intended uses for FUN Park Grant funding by the City of Garfield include the purchase of playground equipment and picnic tables that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, cooking grills, benches, and recycling containers. The FUN Park Grant funds cannot be combined with any other grant funds or be used for the same purpose as other grant funds.
Any Garfield resident who would like to submit comments about the City’s application for FUN Park Grant funding prior to the June 11 meeting may do so at City Hall during the regular hours of operation.
