The Garfield City Council met on November 1, 2018, to discuss the recent installation of transmission lines in Garfield. The meeting was called by Garfield Mayor Gary Blackburn. Special guests at the meeting were Andy Mayes and Stephen Bowman of the Rogers Public Schools; Cox Communications representatives Ed Fairchild, Angela DeLille, Mathew Mozzoni, and Curt Stamp; and two representatives from Vision Cable. Trisha Lee and Ellen King of the Garfield Planning Commission were in attendance. The meeting was open to the public.
On behalf of Rogers Public Schools, Mayes and Bowman explained that Cox offered to provide services for the Garfield Elementary School (photo above) at no cost. Commissioners Lee and King reported that the Planning Commission had discussed the transmission poles at their last meeting. The timeline for the transmission line project was given by Vision Cable.
